Looking for Amazon affiliate marketing tips? I'm about to be very
honest with you. I don't know much about Amazon affiliate marketing. I
know, I know, I'm supposed to be the expert. Well let me tell you why
being an Amazon affiliate is only for those who know and understand what
it takes to be successful in internet marketing.
You need a couple of things to be great in internet marketing. You need traffic, you need a landing page, and you need sales. The best way to sell affiliate products is to have multiple opportunities to show your product to your potential customer.
So let's say you sell gardening tools using the easy affiliate program Amazon has set up.
Of course you could do a review of gardening tools and post reviews of certain tools on Google, YouTube, Squidoo and various other traffic sources. What you need however is a way to keep your prospects engaged.
If all your potential customers and viewers did was see your review they would say,"thanks for the info" and leave your page, never to return again. It's the truth.
You'll end up with cold leads who got what they wanted and left your page never to return again.
So you may have spent hours creating content and posting it but without following up you might as well kiss your commission from Amazon goodbye. Just so you know, following up is not enough. Your viewers needs a reason to "opt in" to your offer.
So if you had a small e-book titled "10 Gardening Secrets", then your prospect would most likely to buy from you instead of giving the Amazon commission to someone else.
Now why is that? Well if you did it right then who would have presented the most opportunities to buy the gardening tools you are offering? Who did they get to know and trust before buying?
The answer is you. If you did your job well, then you entertained, engaged, and informed your leads. They warmed up to you and were left with a good feeling, now knowing they are better informed.
They want to thank you for helping them feel better by paying you or buying from you. Does that make sense?
When I got started selling as an Amazon affiliate, I created a 50 page website about pregnancy pillows. On the left and right were ads provided by Amazon with my link on the sides. That was a ton of work. I made $5 from that after almost 1 year of page after page building.
If I continued for 5 years with my pregnancy pillow website, I may have made enough to cover the hosting cost of that website with Amazon commissions. This is not the way I recommend selling online.
The reason I don't recommend this method is because I didn't know any better and people landed on my page and left without me giving them something to help them decide on which pillow to buy.
So in conclusion if you are going to sell affiliate products, make sure you can get traffic, convert that traffic to a follow up list, and then monetize that traffic at the right stage.
Speaking of monetizing, since Amazon only pays 4% commission make sure what you sell makes you a ton of money. This is probably my number one Amazon affiliate marketing tip I want to share with you.
