A young man decided he would like to invest in an apple orchard. He
found the right land, bought the seedlings and planted them in perfect
rows. Each day he went out into the orchard. He watered, fertilized,
weeded and cared for his new land. He struggled through the winter
months and did what he could to care for his frozen land. Time passed,
and soon spring turned his orchard into a beautiful field of flowers.
He fertilized, weeded, pruned and did everything he could to care for his apple orchard. But discouragement set in. He had worked for over 2 years on his orchard, and he had not seen one apple. So he sold the orchard and moved to another area so he could recover his losses.
Everyone who knows anything about apple orchards would shake his head and say, "Patience boy! It takes time to produce fruit."
This story is parallel to what many affiliate marketers do. They have high hopes, sign up as an affiliate and do what they know to build their on-line business yet most pull out before the harvest. Anyone who knows anything about affiliate marketing would say, "Patience! It takes time to produce the fruit."
It's well-known that the failure rate for people starting out in affiliate marketing is pretty high. But it's high only because the majority does the same thing this young farmer did. It takes time to build traffic and to build a list.
Affiliate marketing is a kind of like planting seeds. Especially in the beginning. Your seeds grow in places you don't even realize. I had one affiliate who was very anxious to get up and running as an affiliate marketer. He did all he could to optimize his site. He wrote great articles. His website setup was impressive. But because he spent over $500.00 on his project and didn't see any quick returns, he quit. Luckily, he didn't take down all that he had set up. Before too long, he was on our top seller affiliate list. Even though he had quit, his site and a bit of time, eventually did the job. Imagine what he could have had, if he had continued to build!
Continue to plant new seeds, or ideas, in all their varieties. While you are harvesting one, another is growing. Make sure you fertilize, water and nurture the ones you have already planted so they don't die out.
You must spend time building before you will see the fruits of your labors. Don't give up, implement one plan, once it is set, start another and another. Nourish each plan while you work on others. Consistently find new ways to market.
'Everything' is not invented - yet! Old ways become obsolete, new ideas are born daily so be creative. Think of new ways to put your website out there. If you are consistently working to build, as well as nourish what you already have, you will find the success you desire. The secret is - don't quit!
Don't be afraid of mistakes! Trail and error are actually very good teachers.Through trial and error you gain valuable experience. Your mistakes will give you ideas on how you can improve.
Treat your affiliate marketing as a business. Make a plan, set goals, and have patience. Soon you will see the fruit come in, slowly at first perhaps, but soon, you will be an experienced affiliate marketer and you will be pleased with your income.
Everything worthwhile takes time to build. Instant money is usually instantly gone in time. Those who are successful have learned the law of the harvest. Work hard and be patient because the fruit will grow - In its season.
