Blogging is considered by most as a way of reaching out to people who are interested in the same things are you are, and to build a more personal experience for those who are engaged with your brand. What many people don't know, however, is that your blog can be a valuable source of income for you.

One of the best weapons in the affiliate marketer's arsenal is a blog. Not only can it be packed full of keyword rich content, but if done right, it can also boost your credibility, and hence your visits and engaged followers. There are some tips for getting this right:
1. Keep it minimal. No one likes to visit a blog that is peppered with advertisements, or it feels like too much of a hard sell.

2. Don't promote too many products - only promote products which you have used firsthand, and are convinced are worth selling to more people.

3. Describe what you are selling - don't just expect people to be convinced to click on a minimal text banner. A blog is one of the best places to talk about the genuine benefits the product offers, so make sure to bring that out.

4. Don't sell, persuade - speak genuinely about how the product has worked for you, tell customers about your experiences with the product so that they see what's in it for them.
5. Space out content - Lure customers in with tidbits of information, enticing them enough to want to know more about the product. This will help in increasing your conversion rate, as there will be a number of people genuinely interested to know more about the product.
If done right, blogging can be one of the most lucrative forms of generating income, especially for affiliate marketers.

The thing about blogging is that it has consistently worked since the internet started. When you think of all the different ways there are to make money online, blogging has always worked.

I can't say the same for a lot of internet marketing strategies. Paid marketing strategies have changed for anyone promoting work from home products. Facebook has changed. YouTube has changed. But blogging has always worked.

Some people think that Google AdWords are a better way to earn from a blog, but my experience is that nothing works better than meaningful content, which can be used to both inform the customer about the product, and induce him or her to want to know more.
This is just one of the ways in which blogging can, and has proven to be beneficial to affiliate marketers. Writing regurgitated content doesn't work.

But writing from your heart and personal experience makes affiliate marketing blogs way more effective.
